 The Secretary of the Army has reposed special trust and confidence in your patriotism, valor, fidelity and professional excellence. In view of these qualities, your demonstrated leadership potential, and dedicated service to the United States Army and the unit, you are, therefore, promoted to the rank of Private Second Class. 

As a Non-Commissioned Officer, you are expected to aspire and intern what it means to be a servant while striving to be tactically and technically proficient in all that you do. A Non-Commissioned Officer is a pillar of the community and as such is expected to uphold the numerous responsibilities of their position and enforce the standards of the Unit and Army. Soldiers of a lesser grade are required to obey your lawful orders. Accordingly, you will accept responsibility for their actions. Accordingly, you will accept responsibility for their actions and inactions honoring the traditions and standards of the United States Army in the discharge of your duties.
